Top 8 Weapons and Spawn Locations in Halo Infinite Multiplayer (2024)

Halo Infinite’s online multiplayer launched on November 15th, 2021. Since then, Halo fans all over the world have been sharpening their skills, and battling to be the top of the leaderboards. For new players or people who need a leg up to stay competitive, we have prepared this handy list of some of the best weapons in Halo Infinite multiplayer, and where you can find each weapon spawn.

M41 SPNKr

This classic double rocket launcher will be instantly recognizable to anyone who has been following Halo since the beginning. The M41 SPNKr is useful in just about every situation in Halo Infinite. You just need to be wary of splash damage. The weapon has 4 rockets total, and 5x and 10x zoom mode for long-distance targets. It doesn’t matter what part of an opponent’s body you hit with this one, but if you’re going for a headshot, the zoom is pretty helpful.

If enemy vehicles are giving you trouble, a few well-placed shots from the SPNKr will destroy it and its operator in short order. If you find a group of enemies clumped together or in some kind of interior, the splash damage from one rocket should be enough to wipe them all out. Since it is a Power Weapon, this weapon spawns in Halo Infinite’s multiplayer on the yellow pads on each map. Power Weapons only spawn at specific times, and are not available constantly throughout matches or certain game mode.

S7 Sniper

This rifle is another recognizable Halo Infinite Power Weapon. It comes with 8 total rounds (2 clips of 4), and double zoom capability. The S7 Sniper is one of the most powerful guns in the game, but it won’t help you destroy a vehicle. But, if you’re aiming to kill the driver or passengers of a vehicle, this weapon is the one to go with. If you land a headshot, you’ll kill any opponent in a single hit, armored or not. Shots to the body will eliminate the shield, and a quick second shot follow-up will take the enemy down.

If you plan to post up somewhere high and snipe your opponents from a bunker nest, you’ll discover one of the few weaknesses of the S7 Sniper. It produces a bright light that can be seen by enemies when you are in the zoomed mode. This will make you easily seen and picked off if you take too long to fire. The S7 Sniper can also be found on the yellow pads in every game mode on the maps Live Fire, Behemoth, Fragmentation, and Streets. If you can’t find the S7 Sniper, the Stalker Rifle is a decent replacement, though it is less powerful.

Energy Sword

The Energy Sword is one of Halo’s few melee-only weapons. Moreover, it may just be one of the most iconic Halo weapons of all time. It runs on an energy meter that is quickly depleted after just a few uses. When you pick it up, the energy blade is just a handle.

After your Spartan gives it a violent shake, a long energy beam sprouts from that handle, forming safely around your hand. This weapon is unfortunately useless at long range, so it’s not recommended for intense firefights at range. However, if you manage to sneak around and flank your opponents while they are distracted, you will be able to do a medium-range lunge attack.

Any attack from an Energy Sword that connects with its mark is an instant kill. These are considered Power Weapons in Halo Infinite multiplayer maps, but they don’t spawn on the same pads that the S7 Sniper and M41 SPNKr do. They instead spawn on separate yellow-colored Power Equipment pads. The Energy Sword has a low spawn rate, but your suit AI will alert you when one is available.

There are some great tricks and tips you can pick up to learn how to lunge with the Energy Sword in Halo Infinite. These will help you play more like a pro and close the distance with enemies quickly.

Skewer

This weapon is regarded as an “Anti-Tank” weapon, and its sheer power earned it that distinction. It fires huge spikes at great velocity, “skewering” enemies and destroying vehicles with little fuss. Because of this immense power, the Skewer only has 4 shots available, and each reload takes several seconds to complete, leaving you very vulnerable after you’ve given your position away. This is similar to its Power Weapon sister, the SPNKr

The Skewer is desirable on large maps that feature many vehicles, as they can destroy the smaller vehicles like the Mongoose and Ghost in one shot. Warthogs and bigger vehicles will take two shots. Like the S7 Sniper, the Skewer emits light when you use its scope mode to aim, although the light for this one is red. Skewers can be found on yellow pads on most Big Team Battle maps.

VK78 Commando

This awesome automatic rifle is a brand new weapon for Halo Infinite. It is a kinetic weapon and a play on the classic Assault Rifle and Battle Rifle. A full clip holds 20 rounds, and a full VK78 has 4 clips for 80 total rounds. If used in tandem with its scope and single-fire ability, it makes a pretty decent sniper at medium-range.

Holding down the trigger will quickly drain a clip with its full-auto fire, but its recoil in this use case is difficult to manage. Like other automatic weapons with high rates of fire, the VK78 Commando Rifle is helpful for depleting enemy shields, then taking them out with a single punch. This tactical rifle is common equipment and can be found on every map.

Heatwave

This curious shotgun-like weapon is another new addition to Halo Infinite. It is a hardlight weapon like those used by the Prometheans in Halo 4. It holds 16 shots total across two clips. When you fire the heatwave, it shoots groups of projectiles in either a horizontal or vertical orientation, depending on the fire mode. If you’ve ever played the Dead Space series, these fire modes work much the same way as the Plasma Cutter from those games. If you’re facing single enemies in an open area, the vertical orientation is going to be your best option, as it will group the projectiles to hit many points on your opponent at the same time for huge damage.

For indoor encounters against a few opponents, you’ll want to use the horizontal shooting mode to make use of the weapon’s special feature: bouncing projectiles. The bullets from the Heatwave will bounce off of walls and enemies several times, doing maximum damage with minimal effort. It is considered standard equipment and can be found on weapon racks on every map, with a controlled spawn time.

Mangler

This weapon is a revolver-type kinetic gun that made its debut in Halo Infinite. It holds 8 rounds with a spare 8 for a total of 16. Despite its small size, the Mangler is true to its name, being able to shred enemy armor and get kills with fewer shots than a comparably sized weapon like the MK50 Sidekick. One disadvantage of the Mangler over longer ranges is that it suffers from bullet drop.

If you aren’t face-to-face with an enemy, the projectiles you shoot will hit lower than the point you aimed at. The effect is worse the farther away you are. This makes its zoom functionality critical over medium-range. The Mangler is standard equipment. It can be found on weapon racks on Streets, Behemoth, Highpower, and Recharge.

Shock Rifle

This brand new, multi-faceted weapon might be the best weapon in Halo Infinite. First and foremost, the Halo Infinite Shock Rifle is an electric weapon. This means it is extremely useful for disabling all vehicles in only two shots. It holds a full clip of 12 rounds, with 24 spares, for 36 total shots. The rub here is that each trigger pull fires 3 projectiles. This means you can only shoot 4 times before you have to reload. To make up for this, the Shock Rifle has a few other uses. In addition to its vehicle disabling, it can also be used in combat as it has an incredibly high damage output. This makes it a weapon unlike any other in the game.

One headshot will kill a fully shielded enemy, making it useful as a sniper rifle. Three shots to the body will have the same effect. Also, if you’re firing at an enemy standing close to its teammates, the Halo Infinite Shock Rifle has the additional ability to cause a chain lightning effect to nearby targets, causing damage to other Spartans within range.

Because of its incredible utility and strength, the Halo Infinite Shock Rifle is released in limited supply through time-controlled spawns to regular weapon racks in every game mode. In Quick Play, you can find the Shock Rifle spawn on Aquarius, Launch Site, and Streets. The Halo Infinite Shock Rifle appears on every map in the Big Team Battle playlist: Deadlock, Fragmentation, and Highpower. In the Halo Infinite ranked arena, the Shock Rifle spawns only on one map: Recharge.
